Fall Scavenger Hunt for Children
Fall is here, the leaves are changing, and children are eager to explore the outdoors. Help fuel their curiosity with this easy scavenger hunt for kids of all ages. Below are the step-by-step directions:
Materials Needed:
- A box (ex. Shoe box)
- Paper Key
- Safe outdoor place
Directions:
1. As the parent or guardian, make a printable key of objects that kids can find outdoors (use pictures if your child is not able to read yet) or click and print the pre-made scavenger key below.
2. Next, distribute this key to your kid(s).
3. Give each child a box to use to collect the items they find on the scavenger hunt key.
4. If the parent desires, they can give out a small prize to the child who finds all the items first.
5. At the end of the activity, go through your box and talk about how some of them are tell-tale signs that fall is coming or that it is here. Use this as an educational opportunity.
