Milk vs. Dark Chocolate

It\’s National Milk Chocolate Day on July 28th! Before you pick up that candy bar it is good to read some facts about milk chocolate vs dark chocolate.  There are a few things you should know about the differences between milk and dark chocolate.

Dark chocolate is better for you because it has more cocoa, which means it have more flavonoids that presents its own class of antioxidants.  Flavonoids are any class of plant pigments that have natural fats.  Milk chocolate does contain some cocoa solids though meaning it has some nutritional value.

The nutritional qualities all vary based on the amount of cocoa and the process made by the manufacturer of the product.  Make sure you are consuming chocolate in moderation and look at the amount of sugar on the back of the label before choosing the candy bar based on the information given on the front of the label.
