Presidents Day

We hope you all have a great President’s Day this week. We should take some time to reflect on why this holiday is so special and look forward to the presidents to come. This holiday was created 1885 in recognition of President Washington. In the federal government, they still call this holiday Washington’s birthday. We celebrate President’s Day the 3rd Monday in February even though George Washington’s birthday was the 22nd day of February.

One last fact about President’s Day is which president besides Washington has the closest birthday to President’s day? Abraham Lincoln’s is on February 12th. His birthday falls very close to George Washington’s and in turn President’s Day.

With all these cool facts, here is a fun activity sheet for President’s Day!
