Watermelon Shaped Rice Crispy Treats

  • 6 cups (colored) Rice Crispy Cereal
  • 6 cups (colored) mini or jumbo marshmallows
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • Gel food coloring
  • Circle cake pan
  • Chocolate chips (optional)

Directions:

In two separate medium mixing bowl, measure 3 cups of marshmallows each. In two separate large bowls, measure 3 cups of rice crispy cereal each. Cut the measure butter in half and place one half in bowl with marshmallows.

Melt marshmallows and butter together. (this can be done in the microwave by cooking the ingredients for 2 minutes on medium heat, or you can place the ingredients and melt them on medium heat in a sauce pan). Color one bowl green.

Color one bowl red. Pour the rice crispy cereal into melted mixture.

Mix all the ingredients together. Once everything is evenly mixed, place green mixture around edge of a cake pan (be careful not to burn yourself, but also pack the mixture before it cools).

Next, carefully add the red mixture to the inside circle.

Add chocolate chips to red section if you want seeds in the watermelon treats!

Cut into triangle pieces like watermelon, and serve.
