Homemade Fudge

Fudge, fudge, call the judge. Have you ever wondered how to make homemade fudge? Here is a simple vanilla fudge recipe you can try at home with your little ones. Be careful with trying to double this recipe. It is best to try it as directed first.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of caster sugar
  • 2 cups of cream (or 2 cups of milk for less calories)
  • 1/4 cup of unsalted butter
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Deep melting pot
  • Parchment paper
  • Spray oil/butter if you don\’t have a non-stick pan
  • 5×9 inches pan

Directions:
Line your pan with a 5×13 inches piece of baking parchment and oil the sides where there\’s no baking parchment
\"\"

Put all the ingredients in your pot
\"\"

Bring the ingredients to boil on a high heat and stir occasionally
\"\"

Let it simmer for about 40 minutes on a medium heat and don\’t stir until it reached 240°F.\"\"

When it is heated, it should look golden brown. You can check the temperature if you put a little bit of your fudge in a bowl with cold water. If you\’re able to roll it into a ball in the water but it loses a bit of its shape when you take it out, it has reached the right temperature.
\"\"

Stir the fudge for 5-10 minutes until it thickens. Stir in nuts, candy, or chopped cookies, if desired.
\"\"

Pour the fudge into your pan and let it cool for 4-5 hours.
\"\"

Cut it into bitesize pieces and enjoy!
\"\"
